1. Roof and sealant leaks

The single most common RV repair. Roof sealant dries out and cracks under the Texas sun, and water finds its way in around vents, skylights, and seams. Left alone, a small leak turns into soft floors and rot. A yearly sealant check is the cheapest insurance you can buy.

2. Air conditioning failures

In Hill Country summers, the A/C works overtime — and that is exactly when it quits. Weak cooling usually comes down to dirty coils, a failed capacitor, or low voltage on shore power, not a dead unit.

3. Electrical and battery problems

“Nothing works” is one of the most common calls. It is often a battery that no longer holds a charge, a tripped breaker, a bad converter, or a loose ground — not a major failure. These are usually quick, inexpensive fixes once someone traces the fault.

4. Plumbing leaks

Fittings vibrate loose on the road, and winter freezes crack lines. A slow leak under a sink or behind a wall can do real damage before you notice it, so any damp spot is worth a look.

5. Slide-out trouble

A slide that will not come in or out can strand you at a campsite. The cause is usually a motor, a worn seal, or an alignment issue — repairable on-site in most cases.

6. Appliance breakdowns

Refrigerators that stop cooling, furnaces that will not light, and water heaters with no hot water round out the list. Many appliance issues are a control board, igniter, or gas-supply problem rather than a full replacement.

7. Awning damage

Wind and sun take a toll. Torn fabric, a bent arm, or a spring that will not retract are common and straightforward to repair or replace.
